Populations vary widely, with major cities like Istanbul, Jerusalem, Amman, and Damascus each hosting millions of residents, while rural areas are more sparsely populated. Religiously, the region is diverse, with Islam, Christianity, and Judaism as dominant faiths alongside other local traditions. Economically, many communities have modest incomes, with disparities between urban and rural areas.
