Paul Golden
Paul was privileged to grow up in a pastor’s home in upstate New York–he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a young age. Desiring to prepare for full-time youth ministry, Paul enrolled at Baptist Bible College (now Clarks Summit University). He later earned his Master of Divinity degree at Baptist Bible Seminary. For the past 25 years, Paul has served on staff at CSU in a variety of leadership roles. Local church involvement included a variety of ministries over the years (deacon, worship team, small group leader, pulpit supply). Paul currently serves as the chaplain for the New York Yankees’ AAA team and the Pittsburgh Penguins’ AHL team. He regularly ministers to players and coaches through weekly chapels, Bible studies and one-on-one meetings. Paul and Marbeth have been married over 20 years—she is a graduate of Cairn University and leads Bible studies for player’s wives/girlfriends.
Paul’s first exposure to SCORE was when Dr. Wendell Kempton invited Paul to accompany him on the November baseball trip to the Dominican Republic (2007). While in the DR, Paul was introduced to Ron Bishop, John Zeller and the ministry of SCORE International. Paul has been on five DR trips with SCORE in addition to other ministry trips (Philippines, Mexico and Europe). Paul’s unique background, ministry experiences and passion for Christ combine as a mobilizer for SCORE. He wants others to have the same opportunities to be blessed through short-term mission trips with SCORE. Bless.
