Craig & Joanna McClure

Dominican Republic

Craig is from Hiawassee, GA. Joanna was raised in Monterrey, Mexico, but moved to Hiawassee as a teenager. Craig and Joanna started dating shortly after when they were 16 and after high school sensed God calling them to global missions.

This calling led Craig to earn a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Piedmont College and a master’s degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he is currently pursuing a doctorate in global missions. Joanna earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing becoming a Registered Nurse in preparation for her ministry on the field.

For the last twelve years, Craig and Joanna have served in the Dominican Republic. Joanna’s primary ministry is making disciples in the home with their four children, overseeing their local church’s Preschool, and running a medical clinic she started in their home village, San Jose. Craig is the Missions Advancement Strategist for SCORE International and professor of evangelism and missions at Dominican Baptist Theological Seminary (Seminario Teológico Bautista Dominicano) an affiliate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Craig is also a contributing author to The Gospel Coalition: Latin American Edition writing missions articles  to encourage and equip Latin Americans to embrace their role in the Great Commission.

Craig and Joanna’s ministry passion is to glorify Jesus in Latin America through evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and leadership development. The goal is to equip Latin Americans to strategically fulfill the great commission at home and among the unreached and engaged people groups for the glory of God and the joy of his people.

Craig and Joanna were married in 2006 and have four children, all born in the Dominican Republic: Joseph Marshall, Liliana Elizabeth, Lucas Judson, and Matías Owen. Their sending church is First Baptist Church Woodstock, GA.
