SCORE recently took a vision trip in July to South Africa and Zambia. Starting next summer we will be carrying teams to these countries! As we don’t have missionaries in either of these countries yet, we will be partnering with local ministries and churches within the cities we are serving.
In South Africa, we will be serving in the city of Mokopane which is a few hours outside of Johannesburg. Once known for it’s vibrant farming culture, it is now known for its platinum mine that has recently opened up which has created more job opportunities and economic growth. Ministry opportunities will be one-day VBS programs within different villages, teaching archery to children, and water/food ministry. Leisure activities (at additional cost) could be traveling on an African Safari or the opportunity to hunt big game.
In Zambia, SCORE is serving in the city of Sioma. Sioma is in southeast corner of Zambia. Teams will have the opportunity to conduct programs in local schools, host medical clinics, drill a well for a village without any water, and teach families and children how to farm. Teams should know that Sioma is in a very rural location and regular comforts are not always an option. In addition, teams will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world and fish in the Zambezi River for Tiger Fish (both at an additional cost).
Trip will be Summer 2018 and dates to be announced soon.
