Sheldon is a veteran of the agricultural world, working in customer service and product
development for a rural Ohio vegetable seed company for 28 years. He is an avid drummer of
36 years, having traveled with a Christian band, as well as ministering for 20 years with his
home church praise and worship band. Sheldon loves to laugh and loves to spend time with
and spread joy to others! His walk with the Lord began with accepting Christ at the age of
seven in his bedroom at home. He has a heart to use his giftings of encouragement and
teaching to boost others and see them grow deeply in their walk with the Lord. He has been
involved with multiple ministries in his church, including small group leadership and youth
Gina is a registered nurse with 19 years of experience, many of those years working in a
hospital setting. She has enjoyed most recently working as a nurse sonographer and client
advocate in a local Christian pregnancy center. She would add Homeschool Mom to her “Most
Rewarding Job” list. Gina’s heart is to listen, encourage, and point individuals to a redemptive
relationship with Christ. She accepted Christ into her own life at the age of 11. She has served
alongside her husband in church small group leadership, as well as many years on the mission
Sheldon and Gina have been married since 1997 and have been blessed with three children.
They began their journey toward serving full-time in missions since hearing an initial call from
the Lord in 2013. They were very excited in 2017 when they both had clarity that they were to
serve in missions mobilization and working with short-term teams which led them to a
connection with SCORE.
The Suttons will be serving at the SCORE Missions Training Center in the Dominican Republic.
They will be encouraging, discipling, and mobilizing college-age interns, as well as introducing
short-term team members to long-term missions opportunities. Sheldon and Gina desire to
