Missionary, Director of Special Projects
Joe was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age where his parents taught him growing up to “Seek First the Kingdom of God”. Joe is a graduate of Kentucky Christian University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministry and an Associate’s Degree in Bible. He met his beautiful wife Deb, at KCU, and together they have three children: Christian Alexander, Alivia Grace, and Caden Joseph.
Immediately out of college, Joe entered the Police Academy in Syracuse, where he served his community as a Police Officer. After suffering a serious injury, he medically retired from the Department. God began to show Joe that He had other great plans for his life. Joe started serving in the Youth Ministry for several years at his home church, Northside Baptist Church, under the leadership of Senior Pastor, Bruce Aubrey.
Joe was invited to go on a short term mission trip in April of 2013 to do a construction project in the DR. Joe and the team had just finished a long hot day of construction and were preparing to pack up for the day. Joe was getting ready to empty the cooler of ice on the ground when the children in the local village ran over to him, begging him to give them the melted ice. It was this moment that has captivated Joe’s heart since. The need for clean water to these villages in the Dominican Republic is his passion. It was on this very trip that Joe felt God asking him to pursue full time mission work, specifically clean water projects.
After researching how to bring clean water to the villages in the DR, God strategically crossed his path with a ministry called WATER @ WORK out of Atlanta,GA. It was an answer to prayer, and the first “water house” providing pure, fresh, disease and bacteria free water will be installed in a village in the DR the beginning of 2014! All Glory to God!! These water houses will be attached to the local churches in the village. This will be an opportunity for the villagers to seek fresh water and for the Pastors of the church to help share “spiritual water” to their hearts, which is the “Gospel of Christ.” Water is life! Both physically and eternally!
“But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again-ever! In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up within him for eternal life.” John 4:14
