Special Assistant to the Executive Director

I was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and was blessed to have been raised in a Bible-believing home. God saved me when I was seven years old, and I was baptized at First Baptist Church of Charlotte.
As a young child, I began playing baseball, and very quickly fell in love with the game. I started playing travel baseball and had success as I moved up the levels of amateur baseball.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to play baseball at Campbell University, then UNC-Charlotte, and then was drafted by the New York Yankees in the MLB Draft in 2009.
While playing in the Yankees organization, I was blessed to meet and grow close with John Zeller, who was the team chaplain. I was able to join SCORE on many domestic ministry opportunities and also went to the Dominican Republic two times with the November Baseball Outreach.
It was during my time in professional baseball that I felt God was calling me into full time ministry. I sensed God had given me a sincere burden to proclaim the Gospel, evangelize the lost, teach the Word, and to disciple and lead men and women to honor Christ and declare His glory to the ends of the earth.
In 2012, I retired from baseball and began to pursue options in ministry, but no situation seemed to be the right fit for me.
After accepting a job in the mortgage banking industry, that tug on my heart to proclaim Christ and His glory to the nations never went away. Following many months of my wife and I praying for God’s wisdom and direction as to what was next for us, the opportunity with SCORE presented itself, and we felt confident it was the right move for us to make.
I am a proud husband to my wife Webber, and father to my daughters, Anne Doughton and Grace. We currently live in Birmingham, Alabama, and are extremely excited about joining the team at SCORE.
We are humbled by the opportunity and thrilled to see all that God will do as we strive to proclaim His fame to the world!
