Ken has been a friend of Score since its founding. He has returned to Score from his mission leadership role at First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia where he has served since 2001. He brings 30 plus years of worldwide mission experience to enhance Score’s advancement into the next decade and beyond. He has done extensive studies through engagements and partnerships developed in multiple mission fields, people groups, and mission movements across Asia and Africa and the Americas.
Ken graduated from Pahokee High School (FL), Southwest Baptist University B.A. (MO), and Delta State University M.A. (MS). Ken and Cindy were married June 7, 1974. They have 3 daughters, Faith, Hope, and Charity and 11 grandchildren. Ken and Cindy early in their teen years came to know Jesus as their savior and committed their life to serve Him vocationally. Cindy has a deep passion and three plus decades of experience teaching children and helping parents to grow them in the Christ. Her classroom is a model of excellence for how to lead children through the Bible from Creation to the Cross. Her impact into the lives of children and families includes many life-changing stories.
Ken sent a basketball player on the very first Score mission project, and went himself as the coach on the initial trip to Argentina in 1986. From 1996-2001 Ken retired from teaching and coaching and began as a missionary with Score focused on sports and youth teams. In 2001 with the blessing of Score, he moved to a role on the mission staff of First Baptist Church Woodstock, and transitioned to Score’s board of directors in 2002. He has continued to serve in various roles with the Score ministry including the personnel committee, and chairperson of the board of directors. Ken began a new career officiating high school basketball that lead to formation of ministry to officials that continues today. He has served as board member of Atlanta Area Basketball Officials, district committee, and liazon with Georgia High School association. His ministry to officials includes Game Time Thoughts, a devotional for officials
Ken’s passion is to see Score focused on the mission of caring, sharing, growing, gathering, and developing leaders to do the same both locally and globally. In short, living out the Great Commandment and fulfilling the Great Commission.
