Randy and Diana Evans have used the game of basketball to change teenager’s lives over the course of their marriage. Together, they have ran many basketball camps, tournaments and events. Randy has coached basketball in the Cleveland and Chattanooga areas for the last 20 years at multiple levels. Randy started his coaching career at Tennessee Christian Academy (‘99-‘00), and then became the Head Boy’s Basketball Coach at Cleveland Middle school. After 9 successful seasons, he decided he wanted to work at the collegiate level. He was hired to be the Assistant Basketball Coach at Cleveland State Community College where he spent 2 years under Head Coach Lee Cigliano. After Cleveland State, Randy coached for 3 years at Silverdale Baptist Academy, and 1 year at Knoxville Christian school (while commuting from Cleveland).
Randy and Diana have 6 children and coaching began to take away from him being involved in his own children’s lives and missing their games, so he decided to quit teaching/coaching in a school setting and instead focus on coaching his own children in different sports when he can. Since leaving the teaching world, he has been employed with Leading Edge Fundraising where he is a Fundraising Sales Rep. Randy and his sons also have a mowing business also called “My 3 Sons Lawn-Care”. Randy also serves as the Athletic Director for the CSTHEA Patriots, which is a Homeschool Sports Program in Chattanooga. He is the Head Coach of the Boys and Girls High School Basketball teams. Randy’s passion for SCORE came after Ron Bishop, SCORE founder, recruited him to go on trips to the Dominican Republic (‘94) and Jamaica (‘95). It was then he knew he wanted to use the game of basketball to change lives for Christ.
Randy and Diana both played college basketball. Randy played at Bryan college (‘95-‘99) and Diana played at Cleveland state (‘96-‘97) and Bryan (‘00).
“Diana and I are excited to finally follow through with a dream that we have had for over 20 years! When we were dating, we sat at a Waffle House talking about using basketball as a ministry…. and now to see it fully coming to fruition is exciting! Basketball has always been our mission field. Now, taking it to the next level in faith and doing it HIS way is going to be an amazing journey!” Randy and Diana have 6 children… Marisa (23), Raylee (18), Maguire (14), Daxton (11), Zander (10), and Zella (4).
