JR was born and raised in Alabama. He became a believer at the age of 9 during a revival being ran by his grandfather. In his senior year of high school his family moved to Aurora, Illinois when his dad was asked to pastor a church there outside of Chicago. It was there he started working with at risk youth and in gang intervention programs. He met the love of his life, Autumn and they eventually married and moved to Alabama to start a family. They have two boys, Reece and Riley. They are actively involved in their local church, Shiloh Baptist, as teachers, small group leaders, and in the praise and worship team.
In 2017, JR went with SCORE on his first mission trip to the Dominican Republic and it changed his life. He felt God’s calling on him to become active in the mission field and leading others to the mission field. He has now been on multiple trips with SCORE and has a passion for sharing the Gospel with all people and making disciples who make disciples.
JR is a high school history teacher and basketball coach. He spent 13 years as a high school baseball coach as well. He loves using his talents as a teacher and coach to tell people about Jesus Christ. He is always ready to and willing to work with groups who are excited about sharing the Good News!
