“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it” – Proverbs 3:27
As most people around the world, we cannot meet together for church, classes, or other purposes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Around March 13th, the Costa Rican government began issuing closures and restrictions nationwide. On March 15th, our local church started virtual meetings using FaceBook and Zoom in order to connect and teach God’s truths to their flock. We have been keeping in contact with our students through WhatsApp groups, sending out information, bible verses, encouragement, and prayers for them.
Many of the families in our barrio have lost their incomes due to COVID-19. Most of them have children, which are now at home all day, with no school lunch available. Se we asked God, “How can we help these families at this time?” On April 7th, we asked some friends in Texas and Indiana to help us purchase bags with basic dry foods and a few hygienic products like toilet paper and soap. The first 5 bags we bought by faith and took them to the most needy students. God worked, you gave, and we bought more bags. We have 45 families (x 3 deliveries) on our list and continue to give!
Our Lord is faithful in ALL situations, which includes COVID-19. As a missionary, I always believe God wants us to rise above the situation and circumstances we are currently facing. That means we need to trust God 100%, because He is the author of our faith and our actions. We are convinced and sure of all glory, honor, and praise needs to go to our God who is almighty. So, I invite you all to come along with us, help us to walk out our faith and show the rest of the world that Jesus our Lord is in control.
Here are some ways you can help us:
Pray for transformed souls in the midst of this pandemic.
Pray for the health of our family, particularly for Amy and the baby (due in July!)
Pray for our home construction! Praise that we got the permits to build our house.
Please consider donating so that we can help deliver more groceries to our neighbors.
Please also consider donating to us as we start the construction process to build our house!
