Baseball Country, a Ministry of SCORE International

With a spirit of thanksgiving and excitement, SCORE International announces the expansion of ministry opportunity through the addition of Baseball Country located in Jena, Alabama. Baseball Country, a 50 acre baseball camp ministry established and founded 21 years ago by Kenny Burns, is now a part of SCORE International. In addition to traditional baseball camp ministries, SCORE International will utilize the facility to host mission teams, retreats, conferences and clinics all for the purpose of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to “glorify God through missions in obedience to the Great Commission.”

Sam Marsonek, Director of SCORE International Baseball, along with his wife, Kristen, and their three girls will move to Baseball Country in August, 2016 to lead the ministry. To understand Sam’s heart and calling as he and his family leave family and home in Tampa, FL to move to Jena, Alabama, read “The Calling by Sam Marsonek.” See Tampa Bay Times article on Sam Marsonek.

“We are excited with this new ministry that will allow the ministry in Greene County that SCORE has been a part of over the last seven years to grow and expand. We look forward to develop and expand this sports ministry at Baseball Country under Sam’s leadership. It will serve as a hub to continue ministry in Greene County as well the surrounding areas,” John Zeller, SCORE International Executive Director.
